15 Feb BID projects reach finals in West London Business Awards
Hammersmith BID was proud to see two of its projects reach the finals in the West London Business Awards 2021.
Both entered into the same category – Made in H&F and Small tap, big change were pipped to the post for the Community Investment Award 2021, by HKS Architects. However, in a competitive field, and with a large number of entries, both projects were well placed to reach the shortlist.
Made in H&F, our community enterprise that had to close in early 2020 due to the pandemic, gave a retail platform to dozens of local artists and creatives through our pop-up store in King’s Mall. Our entry reflected the roaring success of the store, having worked with 54 local artists, fashionistas and craft experts, generated more than £50,000 for the participating traders, and having provided an extensive programme of free workshops and sessions to the public. Small tap, big change supports four local homelessness charities, with variety of fundraising initiatives and an ambitious fundraising target.
For the first time ever, the Awards were presented in a virtual ceremony, broadcast live from Twickenham Stadium, with over 300 guests in attendance over Zoom. Entertainment was provided by an “at home” magician, and a musician from the London College of Music.
Andrew Dakers, Chief Executive of West London Business said: “In these tough times for the business community the West London Business Awards 2021 once again provided a fun-filled evening where everyone could relax a bit and discover what their peers have achieved in 2020. The best practice and innovation that has been pioneered, and we are able to showcase, is truly remarkable.”
