HammersmithLondon is seeking another five-year-term so that it can continue to transform the town centre by delivering a series of innovative and diverse projects and initiatives. Businesses will be asked to vote during the BID Ballot period, which opens on Wednesday to determine whether they want HammersmithLondon continue operating in the area until 2021.
The HammersmithLondon Business Improvement District (BID) has been in operation for 10 years, delivering additional services and projects to improve the working and trading environment. These have included dazzling festive lights and Christmas tree, an ever expanding Summer Festival, the Privilege discount card, extra police patrols and a dedicated CCTV operator, enhanced greening and a free recycling service.
If successfully voted in for a third term: the BID plans to:
• Expand the events programme to draw people into the area
• Promote new shopping habits so that Hammersmith stays competitive
• Embrace mobile technology such as the new Hammersmith App
• Improve the carbon footprint through green projects and infrastructure
• Ensure Hammersmith’s safety through the award-winning Business Crime Partnership
• Promote Corporate Social Responsibility by forging relationships between businesses and charities
BID Director, Patricia Bench, said: “Over the past 10 years, we have witnessed Hammersmith transform into a flourishing destination with a prosperous high street, a thriving arts sector and a great selection of modern office space. During that time the BID has worked to mirror the town’s development by supplementing projects and services that would further enhance the town centre for the benefit of businesses, residents and visitors.
“We as the BID would relish the opportunity to continue this work for a third term, so that we can implement projects that will deliver the type of town centre that Hammersmith businesses want to work and trade in. It is vital that local businesses vote during the Ballot period, and of course, we would encourage them to Vote Yes.”
The Business Plan has been put together following extensive consultation with Hammersmith businesses. As the voice of local business it’s their vision the BID wants to implement over the next five years.
