14 May Bike Week 2019: Free Cycle Maintenance & Security Bike Marking
Bike Week (8-16 June 2019) is an annual celebration of cycling that highlights the health, social and environmental benefits of cycling.
To ensure your two-wheeled friend is in its best possible shape for Bike Week, Dr Bike returns to Lyric Square on Tuesday 11 June, between 11am – 3pm.
Our BID funded police officers will be back providing free security bike marking for Hammersmith employees and cyclists. The process only takes about 10 minutes and your bike will get its own permanent barcode that will be uploaded with your personal details onto the BikeRegister police national database.
Registration comes with free lifetime membership and is proven to reduce bike theft by up to 75%. To improve your chances of a speedy recovery in the event of a loss – all you have to do is inform the police, and update your online account status to ‘stolen’.
Once this is done why not follow up with a free Dr Bike maintenance session where a qualified mechanic will check everything on your bike from wheels, brakes, gears and tyre pressure to lights, racks, pedals, saddles and more. By the end; your bike will feel loved and well cared for. With anything that can’t be fixed on site, advice will be given on exactly what needs doing and a rough guide to what it should cost at a bike shop.
To book an appointment for either service or to arrange a site visit to review your own bike parking security, please contact our operations manager, Gordon Brockie: g.brockie@hammersmithbid.co.uk.
