25 Oct Black History Month 2024 Outdoor Celebration
We were delighted to attend Hammersmith & Fulham Council’s Black History Month 2024 Outdoor Celebration on Saturday 5 October in Lyric Square.
To mark the celebration, a stage was built in the centre of Lyric Square where entertainment took place all day long. First to perform were the New Generation Steel Orchestra followed by more live music, poetry and dance acts. Hammersmith BID were happy to provide our deckchairs so passersby and attendees could enjoy the programme while sitting comfortably.
Other stalls including H&F’s hate crime awareness team, various Black history educational pop-ups and soul food stalls also occupied the square. Plus, Hammersmith BID served free tea and coffee to Privilege Card holders.
The event brought electric energy to the town centre, championing Black culture while uniting the community of Hammersmith.
