04 Mar ACT – COUNTER TERRORISM AWARENESS TRAINING
Throughout 2019, specialist Metropolitan Police CT Protect Officers will be delivering a series of counter terrorism awareness training sessions across Hammersmith. The content and allocated time has been specifically tailored to ensure that this valuable information is easily accessible by all members of the business community, whether they are from the leisure, retail, corporate sectors or the night-time economy.
The one-hour sessions are free of charge and are aimed at all staff members within your organisation.
Upcoming events are being kindly hosted by Barclays Bank, 75 King Street, Hammersmith, W6 9HY, and the next available dates are:
- Weds 27th March 2019 (1030 – 1130)
- Weds 24th April 2019 (1030 – 1130)
The aim of this training is:
- To help you to understand the threat of terrorism currently facing the UK.
- To assist individuals with information on what to do if they find themselves involved in a terrorist incident or recognise events that may lead-up to planned attack.
- To enable our communities to recognise and report suspicious activity.
The topics in more detail will include:
- Current Threat & Methodology (WHO is doing WHAT, and more importantly; HOW. This information enables you to have a greater understanding of the importance of knowing what to do in an emergency)
- Suspicious Behaviour (Sometimes referred to as ‘Hostile Reconnaissance’, you are taught how to recognise it, and what to do – the principles apply to general criminality as well as terrorism)
- Unattended/Suspicious Objects (Improvised Explosive Device (IED) are a known tactic of terrorists. You are taught what to look out for and what to do if you find something suspicious)
- Weapons Attack (Run/Hide/Tell – what action to take in the event of an attack/incident involving any weapon)
If you have already attended any Counter Terrorism training, please consider a refresher – or recommend this valuable training to any of your colleagues or company stakeholders.
