Alongside Litter Picking Days, our Environmental & Street Cleansing Walkabouts support Hammersmith BID’s commitment to creating a more resilient and attractive town centre. Hammersmith BID has split the town centre into 3 different zones, focusing on the Environmental issues across a different zone at the beginning of each week.
- Zone 1 – Broadway
- Zone 2 – King Street
- Zone 3 – Talgarth Road
Reporting of Walkabouts
Environmental and Street Cleanliness issues discovered during Walkabouts are documented by Hammersmith BID via the lovecleanstreets app. Supported by Keep Britain Tidy, the app allows you to make reports which reach the right team within the authority, in this case, Hammersmith and Fulham Council. The app enables you to report on a variety of issues that are negatively impacting the public realm.
In Hammersmith, the most common categories include fly-tipping, fly-posting, graffiti, and abandoned bikes and highway maintenance resources. However, most of these reports are resolved within a few days!
The before and after shots illustrate the positive impact this initiative has had in making Hammersmith a safer and more attractive place to live, work, and visit.
