November Environmental Walkabout

November Environmental Walkabout

Our Environmental & Street Cleansing Walkabouts support our commitment to creating a resilient town centre. During our walkabouts, we focus on escalating and resolving issues across the three zones of the BID area, helping to improve the public realm in Hammersmith. During our November Environmental Walkabout, we reported 42 street cleanliness incidents via the lovecleanstreets app.

Overall, highway obstructions and graffiti were the incidents most reported, but within one month, around 70 percent of these reported incidents were resolved.

Zone 1: Hammersmith Road, Shepherd’s Bush Road and Hammersmith Broadway

  • Highway obstructions, including abandoned and broken bikes, were the main issues reported across Zone 1 of the Hammersmith BID area. In addition to escalating incidents through the lovecleanstreets app, we raised concerns around the influx of abandoned bikes in Hammersmith to the Law Enforcement Team (LET) at H&F Council. Consequent to the escalation, the majority of broken and abandoned bikes have been removed from Hammersmith’s public realm.

Zone 2: King Street, Beadon Road and Hammersmith Grove

  • While incidents of graffiti continue to be on the rise throughout Zone 2, just two of the reports made in November 2023 remain unresolved. Should you see incidents of graffiti throughout Hammersmith, please escalate your concern via the lovecleanstreets app.

Zone 3: Hammersmith Flyover, Talgarth Road and Fulham Palace Road

  • 50 percent of incidents across Zone 3 remain in progress. Similarly, to Zone 1 and Zone 2, highway obstructions and graffiti were the most reported concerns across Zone 3 in November 2023. Following escalation, we anticipate these incidents will be resolved shortly.
