October Environmental Report

October Environmental Report

Our Environmental & Street Cleansing Walkabouts support our commitment to creating a resilient town centre. During our walkabouts, we focus on the issues across the three zones of the BID area, helping to improve the public realm in Hammersmith. During our October Environmental Walkabout, we reported 37 street cleanliness incidents via the lovecleanstreets app. Overall, highway obstructions and graffiti were the incidents most reported.

Within one month, around 50% of reported incidents were resolved.

Zone 1: Hammersmith Road, Shepherd’s Bush Road and Hammersmith Broadway

  • Highway obstructions, including abandoned and broken bikes, were the main issues reported across Zone 1 of the Hammersmith BID area.
  • 100% of fly-tipping, street cleansing and rubbish issues reported along Hammersmith Road, Shepherd’s Bush Road and Hammersmith Broadway were resolved within one month of reporting.

Zone 2: King Street, Beadon Road and Hammersmith Grove

  • Highway obstructions and graffiti were the most reported incidents reported across Zone 2.
  • Compared to September 2023, in October 2023 we saw a rise in the amount of graffiti along King Street and Beadon Road. However, 80% of the reports have been resolved and the other 20% are in progress.

Zone 3: Hammersmith Flyover, Talgarth Road and Fulham Palace Road

  • In October 2023, highway obstructions and graffiti were also the most reported across Zone 3.
  • 100% of issues of fly-tipping were dealt with promptly and only one incident of graffiti remains unresolved.
