It’s a YES for Hammersmith BID!

It’s a YES for Hammersmith BID!

We’re pleased to share that Hammersmith BID has been successful in its fifth ballot, with the businesses of Hammersmith voting YES for a Business Plan that will see over £5million investment in the town centre over the next five years.

92% of businesses voted in favour of the BID, representing a ‘Yes’ vote from 96% by rateable value. Turnout was impressive with 69% of businesses casting their vote, an exceptionally strong mandate for a BID. Average BID ballot turnout across the UK in 2025 stands in the region of 40%.

Livia Caruso, BID Director at Hammersmith BID said:

“We are grateful to the businesses of Hammersmith for putting their trust in us. Through our Business Plan, we pledge to help Hammersmith thrive over the next five years and beyond, securing investment, opportunities and innovation for our town centre. Our businesses see day-to-day the value and support that the BID brings, so we couldn’t be more pleased with the fantastic turnout and resounding YES vote!”

As one of the UK’s longest-running BIDs, 2026 will mark 20 years of Hammersmith BID delivering for the town centre through projects like the award-winning Summer Festival, Made in H&F shop, Hammersmith’s Christmas tree and festive lighting, vital security partnerships and public realm initiatives including the Hammersmith Grove parklets and Public Realm Vision for Hammersmith East.

The team looks forward to beginning the BID’s fifth term on 1 April 2026 and delivering on new projects from our Business Plan for 2026-2031:

Place We will champion and campaign for more improvements to Hammersmith’s public realm and shared spaces, with the environment and sustainability at the heart of what we do. Hammersmith is already a transport hub with many attractions, but we will work to revitalise perception of Hammersmith as a destination for visitors and workers.

Safety We will continue our multi-agency approach to tackling business crime, sharing intelligence and funding training to help protect our community and equip local workers with solutions and knowledge. The BID will fund pilot schemes in keeping with the BID’s focus on additional services, and will work with existing teams carrying out vital work to tackle the root causes of crime to help create a safer Hammersmith for all.

Community Our events programme will keep bringing people to the town centre and adding to the rich entertainment offer and vibrant community here. We will refresh our marketing of Hammersmith through schemes like the popular Privilege Card and sector-specific campaigns, and work to find new ways for our local workers to give back to Hammersmith through CSR opportunities.
