The Irish Cultural Centre in Hammersmith is acclaimed for providing one of the most exciting and adventurous weekly programmes in the UK, featuring Ireland’s best traditional and contemporary musicians, an Irish film programme, Irish literary events, Theatre and art exhibitions and much more.
Johnny Óg Connolly, the internationally renowned traditional Irish musician and composer, will be at The Irish Cultural Centre for the London launch of his latest album, this Saturday 11 May.
The album, entitled Fear Inis Bearachain, is a tribute to his father, the renowned melodeon player, Johnny Connolly. It is a beautiful, moving and fitting tribute to one of Connemara’s most beloved musicians. Johhny Og Connolly will appear with the great banjo, whistle and piano player Clíodhna Costello and the fine guitarists and whistle player Pádraig Ó Dubhghaill. Opening the concert will be the wonderful young flute and fiddle duo, Ben Connolly and Ella Connolly.
