The Summer Festival announces lunchtime recital series

New for 2021, the Summer Festival programme announces a series of original lunchtime recitals, taking place at St Paul’s Green.

St Paul’s Church and Green provides an oasis of calm in our busy town centre, and this will be the location for a series of unique lunchtime performances, featuring emerging artists. The concerts are redesigned to provide an energising backdrop to your lunch hour: an opportunity to listen to something different. They are suitable for all: office workers, shoppers, visitors and families.

The events, taking place on Tuesday and Thursday lunchtimes in August, will feature a range of different music styles. An Irish Folk Trio will be performing on Tuesday 10 August at 1pm; and later in the week, we’ll be presenting vocalist Florence Taylor over lunch on Thursday 12 August.

The following week, secure your spot to listen to harpist Imogen Emmett on Tuesday 17 August; and we’ll finish with an uplifting operatic trio, Sorelle, on Thursday 19 August. For more information on each, and to book your free place, find out more.

For those who can’t make the individual concerts, the BID is also setting up a temporary outdoor café setting outside St Paul’s Church for two weeks from 9 – 20 August, with refreshments available to purchase from the delicious Greenbirds Café.
