Every woman has a right to feel safe in her own city
Now that the winter nights are upon us, and more of us may be feeling unsafe, Hammersmith BID wants to ensure employees are aware they can help create a safer public realm by standing up to harassment.
In addition to our quarterly Women’s Safety Forum, where we work together with Hammersmith’s community to create a safe and accessible town centre, day and night, for women and girls, we want to highlight the value of Active Bystander Training. The Suzy Lamplugh Trust has partnered with L’Oréal Paris to bring the expert approved “Stand Up Against Street Harassment” international training programme by “Right To Be”. The session includes bystander training and welfare and vulnerability training. This programme drives awareness of harassment. The training upskills and empowers individuals across various settings such as schools, public transport, festivals, public spaces, and workplaces, to help defuse situations, discourage harassers, and support victims.
Sessions are one hour long and FREE to attend.
