Personal Safety Training: Train-the-trainer

Train-the-Trainer training: Open access course

In addition to our quarterly Women’s Safety Forum and as part of our commitment to women’s safety, Hammersmith BID works closely with Suzy Lamplugh Trust. The Charity aims to reduce the risk and prevalence of abuse, aggression, and violence – with a specific focus on stalking and harassment – through education, campaigning and support. We work to promote and support Suzy Lamplugh Trust’s personal safety and bystander sessions across Hammersmith’s businesses.

One training the Suzy Lamplugh Trust has developed is their personal safety ‘Train-the-Trainer’ course. The Train-the-Trainer course allows organisations to provide in-house personal safety training to their staff members. Over two days, delegates gain the knowledge, skills and confidence to deliver personal safety training to others. People will be equipped with the following:

      • Skills to help staff to understand and recognise triggers of aggressive behaviour
      • Understanding the stages of conflict and how to help others to avoid, reduce and manage risks to their safety
      • The ability to encourage staff to confidently use dynamic risk assessment models to stay safe in many different situations
      • The opportunity to receive feedback from a teacher training expert

The Train-the-Trainer course certifies you for three years, after which delegates will need a one-day refresher course. The dates for the refresher course can be found here.
