02 May Litter Picking with Disney Green Team
Hammersmith BID works with local businesses to support the Keep Britain Tidy campaign. We facilitate litter-picking sessions and other green volunteering opportunities as part of our sustainability commitment. Every act to protect the environment, no matter how small, makes a difference.
The campaign inspires people to eliminate litter for current and future generations. Green Volunteering can help permanently change behaviour, spotlight the problem and offer creative solutions. We are proud to join #LitterHeroes across the UK, working with employees in Hammersmith to achieve these goals.
Litter Picking with Disney Green Team: 25 April 2023
On 25 April 2023, Hammersmith BID met 19 volunteers from the Disney Green Team outside Shortlands for their briefing and split into two teams. Group 1 headed to Talgarth Road & Butterwick, the bee-friendly planting area under the Flyover and Fulham Palace Road. Group 2 collected litter from Hammersmith Road, Hammersmith Grove Parklets and Lyric Square before both groups met at St Paul’s Green for a debrief, some pictures and the litter drop-off.
Thank you to the Disney Green Team for filling 20 bags of litter during their 60-minute litter pick. These bags included 88 cans, 85 bottles, 100s of cigarette butts and several bulky items such as a winter hat, lighters, a pint glass and a trainer.
